“The biggest joy in my job is preparing a room for a new family coming into the shelter. Making the beds with new homemade quilts and putting a stuffed animal on the kids’ beds. To see the kids’ smiles when they see the new stuffed animal that is waiting there just for them. That is what I love most.”

“I have been helping deliver Christmas Hampers for years and I love doing it. I remember walking up to one door and the woman answered all bruises, but she smiled as we handed her the boxes. We began making light chat and her son came to see who I was, I reached out to pat him on the head and he cowered. It tugged at my heart.  Even though I may not see a bruise, I will never forget why I do this and for who.”
