Do you need to have a fundraising agreement with WIN House? Yes, this allows both parties to be prepared for questions regarding the event. WIN House requires that a Special Event form be completed and signed no less than three weeks prior to event.
Can I use the WIN House logo? The umbrella symbol and WIN House are registered trademarks of Edmonton Women’s Shelter Ltd. and the standards and termination of use are determined by EWS Ltd. Use of the WIN House logo and name in all promotional material and activities must go through an approval process by WIN House. This includes, but is not limited to: articles, posters/flyers, advertisements and media releases.
What if I require a tax receipt? For a tax receipt to be issued, two important requirements must be met:
1. the donation must be considered a gift.
2. payment must be recieved by cheque, money order (payable to Edmonton Women’s Shelter Ltd. or WIN House) or cash (recording donor names, addresses and amount)
*** A registered charity is not required to issue a tax receipt unless they are reasonably satisfied that Canada Revenue Agency rules allow them to do so.
